Liberal lawmakers who cannot publicly admit that Americans own guns for self-defense somehow know when a pro-gun candidate is running, and then they launch a smear campaign against that candidate. But this one is much, much worse. Kirk Brown is running for the Republican nomination for President, and he is running against a liberal Democrat, Joe Biden. But he is also running against a group of Democratic lawmakers who have done nothing to stop the liberal agenda. And now, the anti-gun group Common Sense is against him, and so is Joe Biden. Despite the fact that a wide majority of gun owners are also hunters, Brown is being attacked for his pro-gun views, and his own pro-hunting record, by a new commercial released by Common Sense. According to the Associated Press, Brown claims that Common Sense is a partisan group, but that is clearly not true. When asked about Common Sense’s new political ad on Fox News, Brown told a Fox News reporter that the group was “a political outfit” and that the group, as a 501(c)(4) non-profit, cannot directly coordinate with the campaign. But that statement is not true. The group is a 501(c)(4), which means it can collect and spend unlimited money without disclosing donors. It can also focus on politics, and fund political candidates. Brown’s gun control political organization, the Constitutional Carry Coalition, also has ties to the group. Moreover, according to Common Sense, they have a long history of supporting pro-gun candidates, and have done so throughout American history. The group states that it was founded in 1977, the year that President Jimmy Carter signed the Federal Assault Weapons Ban. But as The Daily Caller points out, its first known donations were made in 1981. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks be359ba680
